Well, this marks the end of my first day as a freelancer, and I had a great day. It wasn’t jam packed with client work, but it was still productive. A few days ago I read this great blog post 6 Work-Life Balance Tips from Salesforce.com’s Woman of the Month that made me feel very ok with wanting to scale back a bit on work. Initially the thought of working less than 40 hours a week made me feel like I was planning to be a slacker, especially when many people still associate productivity with long hours.
There is so much more to life! I think our society is quickly realizing this, especially since this article 6 Ways to Save Your Life -- and Your Company was the next thing I recieved in my inbox :)
One of the main reasons why I wanted to become a freelancer/contractor was to make sure that I had the maximum amount of joy in my life possible. For someone like me, one activity will not cut it; I crave a variety of learning opportunities and experiences.
I know that I will be able to incorporate these tips into my life to maintain a healthy balance of joy, life, and work.
